An engineering firm has invested in excess of £25000 in an innovative new production reporting system.

Midland Tool and Design’s new Factory Master system provides a range of data on estimating, sales orders, works orders, stock control, traceability and job costings.

The system, which has been customised in-house, generates in-depth reports which will help the Tipton-based company to adhere to the strict standards of the ISO9001 and AS9100 accreditations.

It will also help them gain the prestigious SC21 standard, demonstrating their commitment to improving the efficiency of the supply chain and giving them an advantage when tendering for work in the aerospace sector.

Managing Director Darren Booton said: “There has been a lot of commitment by MTD to enter the data and get the system into an operating condition.

“Factory Master has now become the major operating system within the business and gives key personnel visibility of the manufacturing process.

“We believe that Factory Master will be a great asset to MTD in controlling our business and all relevant personnel have either received training or are undergoing training to enable us to get the best out of the system.”

Midland Tool and Design was established in 1969 and specializes in supplying precision engineering components to a wide range of companies in aerospace, medical and automotive engineering.

They currently employ 35 people at their headquarters in the West Midlands.
